Looky what I found - new gametype for GoW [Apr. 5th, 2007|12:43 am]
In Annex, you win by keeping control over key map locations, or objectives, long enough to collect a winning number of points. Every map has two to five identified objectives available for capture, with one objective active at a time. Objectives are based on map weapon-spawn locations and have a potential value of 60 points toward either team's score. Teams collect those points by maintaining ownership of an objective until all its 60 points have been distributed. Every second that a team controls an objective, the team gets one point. When an objective falls to zero points, the next objective is selected at random.

Objectives in the game are marked by a glowing ring. In order to capture an objective, a player must stand inside the the glowing ring while it is uncontested, and remain there for a short period of time. The more teammates that stand within a ring, the quicker the objective is captured. Once an objective is captured, the team members are no longer required to stand inside the ring, as points are gradually transferred from the objective to the team. A team ceases to earn points once the objective counts down to zero or if the opposing team assumes control of the objective.

Due to the point-based nature of this game mode, the forum indicates that infinite respawning is allowed for this mode, and it will be wave-based every 15 seconds.

Throw down your stones [Jan. 31st, 2007|09:46 pm]
tonite at church we had the most amazing service ever

my youth pastor talked about the time (in the bible) when the Pharisees came to Jesus with a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery

the Pharisees were outraged, yelling at Jesus, saying "It is law by Moses and by Alah that this woman be stoned"

and what did jesus do?

nothing

he merely bent to one knee and drew in the sand.

after the Pharisees had become impatient and started asking him "What would you do?" "Would you too stone this woman to death?"

jesus stood up and said one phrase

"Thos among you who are without sin may throw the first stone."

they just stood there, awestruck

and one by one, they dropped their stones to the ground, and walked away

so, the woman felt guilty, dirty, and ashamed, but the pharisees were convicted, because they had not recognized that they themselves were also in sin, and that just because she was caught doesn't make her more deserving of death than each of them.

so as you read my title, what i'm trying to say is that when someone wrongs you, or hurts you, the best thing you can do is not do anything at all. it's hard though, because when someone does something like that, you want to dish it right back, but that's not living for Christ. he took the accusations, and asked them Who among you are sinless? Who among you are any better than her? Who among you think you have the right to throw that stone?

before pointing out to someone the speck in their eye, first remove the log from your own

goodnight guys

Bad Superman, Go Away [Jan. 21st, 2007|07:14 pm]
so i watched Superman Returns today

wow

how much suck can you possibly pile into 1 movie?

it was aweful

the whole movie was this gay guy flying around and lifting heavy things

yay!

no, not yay

also, if you watch it, which i advise you not to, is that the director has an odd fetish for hands. this is during the opening of the movie

it's like he wants to reveal a life-lesson through the hands instead of through the rest of the sucky movie

idk though

i just can't get over how terrible that was

left a bad taste in my mouth and everything

peace out

The Worst-to-Best Week Ever [Jan. 9th, 2007|07:12 pm]
ok

so, as you guys know, i have been sick since... well forever

(a week)

and going back to school absolutely sucked

really hard

and i had hockey practice yesterday (SOOO BAD) and i really sucked because i'd been off ice for a week and i had no strength or stamina from being sick

then, on top of that, one of my coaches comes up to me and's like "You're gonna have to step it up this week if you want to keep your spot on second line"

i'm crushed

i'm standing there, snot running out my nose, almost falling over, thinkin, "wow, it's hard enough coming back, and now i have to do better than before"

I was really feelin down, you guys know how i get

BUT today in practice i felt a ton better, and i was actually having fun and stuff

PLUS instead of losing my spot, i got.. a promotion i guess you could call it.. to center, instead of left wing

i was pretty stoked

so yeah, that's what some good prayer time can get you

*God loves the impossible, because that's when you HAVE to look to him

peace out guys

Ugh ADVANCED TIMES 4! [Dec. 10th, 2006|08:19 pm]
it's sunday.

i just got home from aberdeen.

4 geames in 3 days.

First of all, we're playing teams that have been together since they were wee little children, while our team has been together for 2 months. yeah. not so good.

we lost all four games by double-digits

it stung.

we played the pierre team though, which tommy and shawn play for (Gator A1d and St. Bear) so it was fun to meet up with them after our games.

but still, utter exhaustion was all that anyone felt after the 4th game.

and hooray for me, i get to go fail a chemistry test first thing tomorrow morning. (i already have a C in the class for midterm, so by semester i will have my first C ever on a report card)

on a lighter note, i might be getting a Wii for christmas (for me, my brother, and my stepdad.)

yay

wow i'm tired

anyways

bye

school is garbage

"I thought you never got sick!" [Dec. 10th, 2006|08:13 pm]
so i woke up yesterday morning feeling kinda blah, with a sore throat and a runny nose.

(this is the morning after my geame)

so new years day i feel like crap

all day

and the worst part was i couldn't taste all of the food we had at our party

it sucked

so, this morning, i woke up and could hardly do anything

at least i brought my 360 with me, because i played COD2 all day

that really is a good game, i just wonder if anyone still plays it on Live

well, peace out guys, hopefully i'll get to play with y'all tomorrow on Live when i go to la casa de mi padre tomorrow

bye bye, don't get sick like me
linkpost comment

ugh [Dec. 3rd, 2006|08:05 pm]
...........yeah. just got home from my hockey geame.
wow.

well, first of all, i had to get up at 7:30 this morning, so we could 'meet' before we left on our 2.5 hour journey across the incredibly diverse and beautiful plains of south dakota. (that was a joke shizz)

so we got there

i think i was sick or something because i was just kind of out of it

probably a video game hangover

anyways, first period, i get layed the f*** out. i mean, i get a glove to the facemask and i land straight onto my a**. more like, upper a**. like the bones above your tailbone. felt like i got hit by a car from behind. plus my jaw kinda did this little 'pop-out-pop-back-in' thing - it was cute.

second period, i got tripped going 6 knots and slid paralell style straight into the boards. my ribcage kind of folded itself in - jk it wasn't that bad but it still hurt like hell.

third period. I TOLLY PWN3D. nah, jk.

we actually got shut-out; 10-0

it's not so bad though, first game of the season and what not. they had 57 shots on goal, meaning out goalie blocked 47 good shots. props to him. but we still lost. kind of a bummer, but i'll get over it

next weekend we have a 4-games-in-2-days tournament out of town. hopefully i can mend myself back to 50% strength so i don't completely suck. yeah

half-hour shower wears a guy out. actually maybe it was because i got effed up tonight and that i was semi-sick

idk

now im just typing just to type

maybe ill go

to bed

yeah

worship [Nov. 29th, 2006|09:23 pm]
so tonight at church, annette taught on worship (annette is that one on my myspace top friends). she talked about how most people consider worship to be something like a choir, or an organ, and people singing hyms and so on. but in the bible (psalms) it says that there should be clapping of hands and playing of music (harps and old l-somethings, which would mean piano and guitar today) and shouts of praise and dancing etc. worship is connecting with god (if you know that he died for you and you have accepted him as your lord and savior) and it expresses your thankfullness for what he's done in your life. worship is something that you HAVE to do if you want to express gratitude towards god. if you don't, you are automatically expressing ingratitude(standing there with your hands in your pockets with a scournfull look on your face) which is bad ;). like, at our church, we play upbeat and good music, and teh congregation sings along and claps and raises their hands - all in worship to god. i'm priveledged to be able to play guitar with them, and it's inspiring to see others my age worshipping with all they got, and it makes me want to play with all i got. worship is also expressed in how we live our daily lives. you can worship at all times, but it is easiest with a group, because other people are doing it. though it is good to worship publicly, it's just as important to do it privately. if you can't praise god when your alone, then you would be considered a fake. you have to have the innner foundation personally with god, then you can do it publicly (proclaiming your faith to everyone else) but you HAVE to proclaim it to him first.

idk if i'm blabbering, but i just wanted to possibly teach you guys some stuff (and this is really good stuff by the way) and show you how i live and why i live the way i do. alright, tty guys on live or something - and for cripes sakes get on msn once in a while!

peace and god bless

Wii Man [Nov. 26th, 2006|05:10 pm]
So, yesternight, i had my first encounter with the nintendo wii. I went over to my friend's house and his brother was home from college (his brother owns the wii and was letting us use it for the night). It was pretty dominant. We were playing the sports game where you can play like 6 different games. I enjoyed it, it was cool how the motion sensor worked and was really interactive. Then, when it got late, we busted out Zelda: Twilight Princess. Wow. What can i say? I could seriously buy a Wii just so i could play that geame. I felt the air rushing past my face as i went back into my youth - playing The Ocarina of Time at my friends house in his 90+ degree, glass-walled patio. Let me tell you, that brought back a lot of memories for me. But anyways, Zelda kicks on the Wii. The swordplay rapes, and the nunchuck and remote work together to do some pretty sweet stuff. Love it - Zelda - Love it.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut, the only thing that would hold me back from the Wiiness is the interaction aspect.

I get home from an 1.5 hour hockey practice plus an hour-long youthband practice and i am completely wiped. most of these games you have to be standing up, (zelda you can sit down [extra points for zelda] so i guess taht's alright) and i can hardly sit up in my chair. That would have to be the only setback for me. Plus, the fact that the Wii doesn't have Xbox Live hahah. Xbl makes gaming so much more fun, even if the games aren't as great (which they are).

So yeah, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

choich [Nov. 22nd, 2006|09:03 pm]
so tonite we learned about the Trilemma

this is the theology lesson thing that talks about how to tell people that you know that Jesus was in fact God's son.

it states:

1) Jesus could have been a liar - that some average man was going through his entire life lying to people about everything he talked and taught about (this is highly unlikely, because nobody can keep up a lie for 33 consecutive years, plus, most people wouldn't die for a lie)

2) Jesus was a lunatic - this means that some crazy guy genuinely thought that he was in fact the Lord (ok, if he was just some retard, how could he teach about the parables, and how could he think up all of his profound teachings?)

3) Jesus was the Lord, God's son. Bingo. How else could it go? Jesus was not merely a man - not a liar or a lunatic. He was our Savior who lived for the sole purpose of knowing our problems, so he could help us face them and give us strength in times of crisis and hardship. He also died for our sins as a perfect sacrifice, so that we, sinners, could have eternal life.

it's your choice - now you decide

Wow, I am the destroyer of microphones [Sep. 30th, 2006|09:00 pm]
Uhhhhh.......Let me explain. Hebrew, you were there, so you know what I was going through at the time of my breaking point. First off, I was just mad because I didn't get my thirty-one. I guess even before that I was tired as heck because of my retreat thing. Second, I find out that I have to get out of my chair so I can spend an hour sitting on a curb -BEFORE going to work. I mean wtf is that?! Stop relaxing so you can come be unrelaxed before you go work at a job that you hate! Yay! So, as if that's not enough (This climax has been building over the course of the hour by the way) we get into matchmaking and in the first 2 minutes we're losing by what, 20? Yeah, by that point I'm snapping. So, I get triple-teamed by some absolute n3wbs, and then it happens. 'Start' / 'Leave Game'. BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM. Seven times I slam my controller into the ground as hard as I possibly can. When I finish there is pieces of plastic everywhere. The base (Shant knows what I'm talking about) is in two pieces and the internals are all around my feet. If that's not bad enough, I examine my headset and the earpiece is absolutely totaled. It's sticking out at a weird angle and there's little wires sticking out the side - definitely broken. When I find this out, I proceed to punch my door several times (this does little dammage, just some minor dents) until my hand is shaking. I trash my broken pieces and go to the parade, then to work, then home. This is my life, little images on a TV screen, causing me to be more violent than anything else does. I am the destroyer of microphones.

Less Talk More Walk [Sep. 4th, 2006|12:16 am]
Hey guys, i just got back from some concerts in sioux falls (about an hour away from here) and i saw a tee-shirt that said what i have for the title. i guess it kind of got to me. what it means (for those of you who don't know) is that you can talk at church about whats happening in your life and you can be all "holy" about it, but what it really comes down to is how your living your everyday life. anyone can talk the talk, but it takes a true christian to walk the walk. hope that blesses someone.

Why I hate the DMV [Aug. 24th, 2006|04:23 pm]
Ok. Today I went to get my liscence because I lost mine while I was on vacation. So, anyways, I go in there and I'm like, can I replace my liscence? The lady's like ok, where's your birth certificate and social security number? I'm like, uh, I don't have those but I know my liscense number. She's like, you need your birth certificate and social security number. I was just like, I don't have them but- YOU NEED YOU'RE BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. I was just thinking, omfg i want to choke you just let me tell you my frickin number so i can get my liscense and get out of here. i just walked out and slammed the door as loud as i conviniently could. Oh, and about a month ago, I went in to get the liscence that i recently lost. I had ridden the moped in to the station that morning. So, i go in there, just like, hey i need a class 2 driver's liscense. they're like, ok and i went through the written exam and stuff. i come out after passing the test and the lady up front is like, EXCUSE ME, HOW DID YOU GET HERE??? I was like, i drove my moped. she's like, how are you riding a moped when your not liscensed??? I said, how else am i supposed to get it here? she says, you're supposed to bring it on a trailer. WTF? I said, i dont have a trailer. so, right there in front of me, she calls up the sherriff to report a teenager driving unliscensed. he comes in and asks me to come with him. so i go in to talk to him and he's actually pretty good about it. hes like, i really only came down here because if i didnt, i wouldnt be doing my job. hes just like, just dont ride it anywhere inbetween your test. so im like, ok, and walk out while hes telling me good luck.?!?!? yeah, so i pass and get my liscnese. and that's why i hate the dmv.
